Casting News - Charlotte Ritchie Joins 'You'; 'The Mighty Ducks' Adds Naveen Paddock and Noah Baird; Plus 2 More Updates!

Casting News - March 25, 2022

Disney+'s The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers; FX's Fleishman Is In Trouble; Netflix's You; and Peacock's A Friend of the Family.

DISNEY+'s THE MIGHTY DUCKS: GAME CHANGERS
  • Naveen Paddock has been cast as a new series regular on the comedy's upcoming second season. Furthermore, Margot Anderson-Song, Noah Baird, Stephnie Weir, Connor DeWolfe, Timm Sharp and Tiffany Denise Hobbs have been cast in recurring roles.
  • Paddock (New Amsterdam, Law & Order: SVU) will play Jace, a disaffected, rebellious and cute stud with a bad-boy attitude. Despite a surprising connection to the hard-core hockey institute run by Coach Cole (Josh Duhamel), he has no interest in being there or spending his summer on the ice. But some of our team have other plans for him.
  • Anderson-Song (NOS4A2, Defending Jacob) will play Gertie, an oddball, homeschooled girl from Alaska who has had very little contact with other kids, and people in general. Back home, she was the best hockey player on her team because she was the only player on her team.
  • Baird (A Christmas Story Live, DuckTales) will play Fries, the little brother of A.J. Lawrence - the self-centered hockey superstar of the camp. Somewhat of an off-brand version of A.J., he has palpable self-esteem issues and is used to living in his older brother's shadow. He has the nickname "Fries" because in their family, Lawrence is always the main course, and Fries is always the side dish.
  • Weir (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, A Million Little Things) will play Marni, Coach Cole's slightly overwhelmed and not-super-confident administrative assistant. She is a bit scared of her boss and would never cross him, but she doesn't quite fit into the intensity of this hard-core hockey institute. She would probably be more comfortable working in the Nature Center she used to run.
  • DeWolfe will play A.J. Lawrence, a god-like teen athlete whose main interest is himself. He intimidates the heck out of his socially awkward goalie roommate. He becomes a superstar player on one of the teams. Great smile, great hair, he's never suffered any adversity in his life and has the ego to prove it.
  • Sharp (Blunt Talk, On the Verge) will play Toby, the Coach of "Head Space" where the institute's teenage athletes go to work on the mental aspects of the sport. He is very smart, a bit odd, with a sharp-eyed intensity.
  • Hobbs (Claws, Pose) will play Jackie, the incredibly jacked Strength and Conditioning Coach. She's tough, challenges the kids, but has a surprisingly sensitive side.
NETFLIX's YOU
  • Charlotte Ritchie has joined the cast of the drama's upcoming fourth season as a new series regular. She previously starred for three seasons in BBC One's Call the Midwife and two seasons in Netflix's Feel Good. She currently stars in BBC One's Ghosts and E4's Dead Pixels.
  • She will play Kate. She's smart, independent, suspicious and misses nothing. She is fiercely loyal to her friends, a brick wall to everyone else. The daughter of a chaotic, bohemian single mother, she worked hard to create the life she now leads. Kate is an art gallery director whose job means managing tempestuous artists. She tends to be "the adult in the room," and has embraced the moniker of "icy bitch." She's especially protective of best friend Lady Phoebe, a sweet and trusting person whose extreme wealth and fame tend to attract opportunists. Kate prefers "arrangements" to love, which is why she dates fun but self-centered partier Malcolm. When Malcolm invites Joe (Penn Badgley), an American outsider of no apparent means, into their privileged world, Kate not only immediately dislikes him, she strongly suspects something about the man is not what he seems.
PEACOCK's A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY
  • Hendrix Yancey has been added to the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Anna Paquin, Jake Lacy, Colin Hanks, Lio Tipton and Mckenna Grace. She previously recurred on Netflix's Unbelievable. She will next be seen in Spectrum's upcoming limited series George and Tammy.
  • She will play Jan Broberg in the early years - with Grace playing the same character as an older teenager.
FX's FLEISHMAN IS IN TROUBLE
  • Ralph Adriel Johnson and Brian Miskell have landed recurring roles on the upcoming limited series starring Jesse Eisenberg, Lizzy Caplan and Claire Danes. Johnson previously guest starred on Netflix's Friends From College, CBS' The Code and NBC's Law & Order: SVU. Miskell appeared in the FX comedy pilot Compliance.
  • Johnson and Miskell will play Logan and Clay, respectively. They are both fellows at the hospital and work with Toby (Eisenberg).
