Final Episodes of 'The Walking Dead' Land Premiere Date on AMC

During the drama's presentation at San Diego Comic-Con today, AMC announced the premiere date for the final episodes of its original drama series The Walking Dead.

The eleventh and final season will return with its third block of 8 episodes on Sunday, October 2 at 9/8c.

In the series' final episodes, threats lurk around every corner, dead and alive, as each of the show's groups of survivors continues to get caught in uncontrollable situations. The looming pressure is cresting towards a day of reckoning for all. Will the sum of their individual journeys cumulate into one, or divide them forever?

The drama stars Norman Reedus, Melissa McBride, Lauren Cohan, Christian Serratos, Josh McDermitt, Seth Gillam, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Cooper Andrews, Callan McAuliffe, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Eleanor Matsuura, Nadia Hilker, Cailey Fleming, Cassady McClincy, Lauren Ridloff, Paola Lázaro, Michael James Shaw, Lynn Collins, Josh Hamilton, Margot Bingham and Laila Robins.

Angela Kang serves as showrunner on the drama. She executive produces with Scott M. Gimple, Robert Kirkman, Greg Nicotero, Gale Anne Hurd, Dave Alpert, Joseph Incaprera and Denise Huth.

Despite the mothership coming to an end later this year, the Walking Dead universe will continue to expand on AMC. Fear the Walking Dead has been renewed for an eighth season, while new anthology spinoff Tales of the Walking Dead launches in August. Moreover, the cable channel has ordered two new spinoffs - Isle of the Dead starring Cohan and Morgan and a currently untitled series starring Reedus.
