Casting News - September 15, 2022

Amazon's Shelter; CBS' East New York & Fire Country; Disney+'s The Acolyte; FOX's Call Me Kat; and Paramount+'s 1923.

DISNEY+'s THE ACOLYTE
  • Manny Jacinto has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Amandla Stenberg, Jodie Turner-Smith and Lee Jung-jae. He previously starred for four seasons in NBC's The Good Place and in the Hulu limited series Nine Perfect Strangers. He also appeared in the feature film Top Gun: Maverick earlier this year.
  • No details were immediately announced about the character he will be playing.
FOX's CALL ME KAT
  • Kevin Sussman will appear in an upcoming episode of the comedy's third season - reuniting with former co-star Mayim Bialik. He previously starred for six seasons in CBS' The Big Bang Theory - which also starred Bialik. He recently recurred on Hulu's The Dropout and AMC's Better Call Saul.
  • He will play Zac, the owner of a local board game bar where Max (Cheyenne Jackson) and Carter (Julian Gant) find themselves checking out the competition.
PARAMOUNT+'s 1923
  • Brandon Sklenar will co-star on the upcoming drama starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. He previously guest starred on Paramount+'s The Offer and HBO's Westworld.
  • He will play Spencer Dutton, Jacob Dutton's (Ford) nephew and John Dutton Sr.'s (James Badge Dale) brother, who has witnessed the horrors of World War I.
CBS' FIRE COUNTRY
  • Michael Trucco has booked a recurring role on the upcoming drama starring Max Thieriot. He previously starred in the Netflix limited series Midnight Mass. He will next star in Netflix's upcoming limited series The Fall of the House of Usher.
  • He will play Luke, Vince's (Billy Burke) brother, a charming Cal Fire Communications Director. Now a PR guy, he worked for years in active fires, earning his fair share of scars. He's career-driven, always looking for that next promotion, that next feather in his cap. His kidding, playful nature instantly endears him to almost everyone - except his older brother, Vince. Luke will step in to help out his family, but the longer he sticks around, the more his "altruistic" motives will come into question.
AMAZON's SHELTER
  • Tovah Feldshuh has been added to the cast of the upcoming drama starring Jaden Michael and Constance Zimmer. She previously starred in the sixth season of AMC's The Walking Dead and recurred on The CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. She is currently starring on Broadway in the musical Funny Girl.
  • She will play Bat Lady, a wraith-like recluse who gives Mickey (Michael) an ominous disturbing piece of news.
CBS' EAST NEW YORK
  • Caitlin Mehner, Darien Sills-Evans and C.S. Lee have landed recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Amanda Warren. Mehner previously recurred on Amazon's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Hulu's Dopesick. Sills-Evans starred in the first season of CBS' Superior Donuts and recurred on ABC's The Conners. Lee starred for seven seasons in Showtime's Dexter and recurred on AppleTV+'s For All Mankind.
  • Mehner will play Corinne Moynahan, Killian's (Kevin Rankin) girlfriend. She likes that Killian is protective but chafes when he gets overbearing. She has been working in restaurants for years - both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house and is driven to become more independent.
  • Sills-Evans will play Deputy Mayor Raymond Sharpe, the polished and intuitive councilman native to East New York.
  • Lee will play Jimmy Kee, the desk sergeant who keeps order and decorum in the precinct. He doesn't tolerate slobs or loudmouths - whether cops or civilians.
