Casting News - Nicholas Lyndhurst and Jack Cutmore-Scott to Co-Star on Paramount+'s 'Frasier'; Plus 2 More Updates!

Casting News - January 13, 2023

AMC's Mary & George; and Paramount+'s Frasier & Lioness.

AMC's MARY & GEORGE
  • Nicholas Galitzine has been cast as the co-lead opposite Julianne Moore in the upcoming limited series developed by DC Moore. He previously starred in the Amazon film Cinderella and in the Netflix film Purple Hearts
  • He will play George, the son of Mary Villiers (Moore). In 17th century England, Mary molded her beautiful son George to seduce King James I and become his all-powerful lover. Through outrageous scheming, the pair rose from humble beginnings to become one of the richest, most titled and influential mother and sons England had ever seen.
PARAMOUNT+'s LIONESS
  • Morgan Freeman has joined the cast of the upcoming drama starring Zoe Saldaña and Laysla De Oliveira. He has received five Academy Award nominations - winning in 2004 for his supporting performance in Million Dollar Baby. Furthermore, he has received three Emmy Award nominations and one Tony Award nomination.
  • He will play Edwin Mullins, the United States Secretary of State.
PARAMOUNT+'s FRASIER
  • Nicholas Lyndhurst and Jack Cutmore-Scott will co-star on the upcoming comedy starring Kelsey Grammer - a spinoff of the NBC sitcom of the same name that aired from 1993-2004. Lyndhurst previously starred for seven seasons in BBC One's Only Fools and Horses. Cutmore-Scott starred in FOX's one-season comedy Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life and in ABC's one-season drama Deception.
  • Lyndhurst will play Alan Cornwall, Frasier's (Grammer) old college buddy turned university professor. British, boozy and larger than life, Alan has an intellect on par with Frasier's - if only he ever felt like using it. His mischievous streak might be just what Frasier could use to shake up his routine, while Frasier's thoughtful guidance might help Alan find some of the direction he's been missing in his own life.
  • Cutmore-Scott will play Freddy, Frasier's son. Charming and handsome, he is a nuanced combination of his father and grandfather. Years ago, Freddy rejected following in his father's footsteps - dropping out of college to become a fireman - and he's never looked back until now, when recent troubles have left him with no one to turn to in his life. If they can overcome past differences, Freddy and Frasier might finally have a chance to repair old wounds.
