Showtime Cancels 'The L Word: Generation Q' After Three Seasons

Showtime has today decided to cancel its original drama series The L Word: Generation Q after three seasons. The drama wrapped its 28-episode run on January 22, 2023.

A sequel to Showtime's The L Word, the drama starred Jennifer Beals, Kate Moennig, Leisha Hailey, Arienne Mandi, Sepideh Moafi, Leo Sheng, Jacqueline Toboni, Rosanny Zayas, Jordan Hull and Jamie Clayton.

Marja-Lewis Ryan developed the drama and served as showrunner for all three seasons. She executive produced with Beals, Moennig, Hailey, original series creator Ilene Chaiken, Kristen Campo, Allyce Ozarski and Melody Derloshon.

Despite today's cancellation, the premium cable network is reportedly in development on a potential spinoff - operating under the working title The L Word: New York - once again being helmed by Chaiken.
