Amazon Picks Up Series Adaptation of 'Cruel Intentions' from Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman

Amazon has today given a series order to an adaptation of the 1999 feature film Cruel Intentions created by Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman - who previously worked together on Amazon's I Know What You Did Last Summer as executive story editor and showrunner, respectively.





Two ruthless step siblings will do anything to stay on top. In this case, of the Greek life hierarchy at an elite Washington, D.C. college. After a brutal hazing incident threatens the entire Panhellenic system, they'll do whatever is necessary to preserve their power and reputations - even seduce the daughter of the Vice President of the United States.

Goodman and Fisher will executive produce with Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Andrea Iervolino, Monica Bacardi and Bruce Mellon. Amazon Studios, Sony Pictures Television, Original Film and Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment will produce.

The 1999 feature film was written and directed by Roger Kumble. Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon and Selma Blair starred.
