NETFLIX's ZERO DAY
  • Lizzy Caplan, Jesse Plemons, Joan Allen and Connie Britton have been cast as series regulars on the upcoming limited series starring Robert De Niro. Caplan recently starred in the FX limited series Fleishman Is In Trouble and next stars in Paramount+'s upcoming limited series Fatal Attraction. Plemons was nominated for an Academy Award in 2022 for his supporting performance in The Power of the Dog. Allen has received three Academy Award nominations for her performances in Nixon, The Crucible and The Contender. Britton has received five Emmy Award nominations for her performances in NBC's Friday Night Lights, FX's American Horror Story: Murder House, ABC's Nashville and HBO's The White Lotus.
  • Caplan will play Alexandra Mullen, a young Congresswoman who has sought to distance herself from her father's (De Niro) political legacy.
  • Plemons will play Roger Carlson, George Mullen's former "body man" seeking a return to the national stage alongside Mullen.
  • Allen will play Sheila Mullen, the former First Lady and nominee to the federal bench whose professional ambitions take a backseat to her husband's political career. 
  • Britton will play Valerie Whitesell, a savvy, intelligent political operative who was Mullen's former Chief of Staff.
HBO's HOUSE OF THE DRAGON
  • Simon Russell Beale, Freddie Fox, Gayle Rankin and Abubakar Salim have joined the cast of the drama's upcoming second season. Beale won a Tony Award last year for his performance in the play The Lehman Trilogy. Fox recurred on Hulu's The Great, Netflix's The Crown and AppleTV+'s Slow Horses. Rankin starred for three seasons in Netflix's GLOW and recurred on HBO's Perry Mason. Salim starred for two seasons in HBO Max's Raised by Wolves.
  • Beale will play Ser Simon Strong, Castellan of Harrenhal and great-uncle to Lord Larys (Matthew Needham).
  • Fox will play Ser Gwayne Hightower, son of Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans), brother to Queen Alicent (Olivia Cooke) and uncle to King Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney), Queen Helaena (Phia Saban) and Prince Aemond (Ewan Mitchell).
  • Rankin will play Alys Rivers, a healer and resident of Harrenhal.
  • Salim will play Alyn of Hull, a sailor in the Velaryon fleet who served in the Stepstones campaign.
