HBO Sets Premiere Date for New Drama 'The Idol' Starring The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp

HBO has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series The Idol starring Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye and Lily-Rose Depp.







The 6-episode first season will debut on Sunday, June 4 at 9/8c.

After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn's (Depp) last tour, she's determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America. Her passions are reignited by Tedros (The Weeknd), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?

The cast also features Troye Sivan, Dan Levy, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Eli Roth, Hari Nef, Jane Adams, Jennie Ruby Jane, Mike Dean, Moses Sumney, Rachel Sennott, Ramsey, Suzanna Son and Hank Azaria.

The Weeknd co-created the drama with Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim. They executive produce with Kevin Turen, Ashley Levinson, Joseph Epstein, Aaron L. Gilbert and Sara E. White. A24 produces.
