HBO Orders 10 Episodes of Untitled Comedy Starring Steve Carell

HBO has today given a series order to an untitled original comedy series starring and executive produced by Steve Carell (The Office, The Morning Show, The Patient). The first season will produce 10 episodes.

Set on a college campus, the comedy will center on an author's (Carell) complicated relationship with his daughter.

Bill Lawrence and Matt Tarses created the comedy. They will executive produce with Carell, Jeff Ingold and Liza Katzer. Warner Bros. Television and Doozer Productions will produce.

"The combination of Steve Carell and Bill Lawrence promises to be full of great laughs, warmth, and charm," said Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President, HBO & Max Comedy Programming. "We're thrilled to be the home for this long overdue collaboration."

"HBO has long been a standard bearer of quality TV," added Lawrence. "Getting to do a show there with Steve Carell is an immediate career highlight for Matt and me. Nothing can go wrong now."
