Max Cancels 'The Girls on the Bus' After One Season

Max has today decided to cancel its original drama series The Girls on the Bus after one season. The decision comes just two weeks after the first season finale was released on the streamer.

Max released the following statement on the cancellation: "While Max will not be moving forward with a second season of The Girls on the Bus, we are grateful to have partnered with immensely talented Amy Chozick, Julie Plec, Rina Mimoun, as well as the teams at Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. We are so proud of this powerful story of found family and the celebration of journalism, in all its forms. We thank them and our unrivaled cast for all their incredible work and collaboration."

The drama starred Melissa Benoist, Carla Gugino, Christina Elmore, Natasha Behnam and Brandon Scott.

Julie Plec and Amy Chozick developed the drama inspired by Chozick's novel "Chasing Hillary." They executive produced with Rina Mimoun, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Leigh London Redman, Marcos Siega and Jesse Peretz. Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions produced.
