Netflix Picks Up Animated Comedy 'The Undervale' Created by Matt Roller

Netflix has today given a series order to the original animated comedy series The Undervale created by Matt Roller (Rick & Morty, Krapopolis). An episode count and premiere date window were not immediately announced.

The series will follow a single mother of two who struggles to run a haunted hotel with the help of her estranged brother, who is now one of the ghosts and thinks the other ghosts have some pretty good ideas.

Roller will serve as showrunner for the first season. He will executive produce with Dan Harmon, Chris McKenna and Steve Levy. Erica Hayes will act as supervising director.

"I'm thrilled to be working with Netflix and an amazingly talented cast and crew to bring to life the stories of the dead, the evil, and the struggling hospitality workers at the Undervale Hotel," said Roller.

"The Undervale is wildly inventive and I'm very grateful to Matt, Chris, Dan and their team for bringing their talents to Netflix," added Billy Wee, Director of Adult Animation, Netflix. "They are phenomenal collaborators and I can't wait for fans all over the world to experience this hilarious show."
