Melanie Halsall developed the drama based on the novel by Ali Novak. The showrunner executive produces with Edward Glauser. Sony Pictures Television, Nomadic Pictures and iGeneration Studios produce.
Novak recently wrote a sequel novel "My Return to the Walter Boys." However, it's unclear if the series adaptation will follow the plot of the new book.
