HBO Renews 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' and 'House of the Dragon'

During today's press presentation in New York City, HBO renewed two of its series in the Game of Thrones franchise - A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms for a second season and House of the Dragon for a fourth season. Both shows will remain on the premium cable channel through 2028.





The renewal for A Knight of the Seven Kingdom comes ahead of its series debut on Sunday, January 18 at 10/9c. The second season will air in 2027.

The half-hour drama stars Peter Claffey, Dexter Sol Ansell, Daniel Ings, Bertie Carvel, Danny Webb, Sam Spruell, Shaun Thomas, Finn Bennett, Edward Ashley, Tanzyn Crawford, Henry Ashton, Youssef Kerkour, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor and Daniel Monks.

George R.R. Martin co-created the drama with showrunner Ira Parker. They executive produce with Sarah Bradshaw, Owen Harris, Ryan Condal and Vince Gerardis.

Meanwhile, the third season of House of the Dragon will premiere in summer 2026. The fourth season ordered today will arrive in 2028.

The third season will star Matt Smith, Emma D'Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Steve Toussaint, Rhys Ifans, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, Matthew Needham, James Norton, Tom Bennett, Kieran Bew, Kurt Egyiawan, Freddie Fox, Clinton Liberty, Gayle Rankin and Abubakar Salim.

George R.R. Martin co-created the drama with showrunner Ryan Condal. They executive produce with Sara Hess, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Vince Gerardis, David Hancock and Philippa Goslett.
