Paramount+'s 'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy' to End After 2 Seasons

Paramount+ has today announced that the upcoming second season of its original drama series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will be its last. Production on the second season recently wrapped but a premiere date window has not been revealed.





In a joint statement, CBS Studios and Paramount+ said: "We're incredibly proud of the ambition, passion, and creativity that went into bringing Star Trek: Starfleet Academy to life. The series introduced audiences to a bold new group of characters, welcomed familiar faces, and expanded the Star Trek universe in exciting new ways. We're grateful to Alex Kurtzman, Noga Landau, Gaia Violo, and the entire cast and crew who pushed storytelling boundaries in the spirit of Gene Roddenberry's vision. We look forward to sharing the upcoming second and final season with everyone, and continuing to celebrate the cast, crew, and all that was accomplished with this series."

The drama stars Holly Hunter, Sandro Rosta, Karim Diané, Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins, Bella Shepard and Zoë Steiner.

The cast also features Paul Giamatti, Gina Yashere, Robert Picardo, Tig Notaro, Oded Fehr, Mary Wiseman, Tatiana Maslany, Brit Marling and Stephen Colbert.

Gaia Violo created the Star Trek: Discovery spinoff, with Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau as co-showrunners. All three executive produce with Michelle Paradise, Jenny Lumet, Aaron Baiers, Eugene Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa, John Weber and director Olatunde Osunsanmi. CBS Studios, Roddenberry Entertainment, Secret Hideout and Warm Blood Sunday Productions produce.
