During the network's Upfronts presentation today, CBS has today renewed its original daytime soap opera Beyond the Gates for its third and fourth seasons. The renewal will keep the series on the broadcast network's daytime lineup through the 2027-28 season.
Set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., the drama centers on the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely
The drama stars Tamara Tunie, Clifton Davis, Daphnée Duplaix, Karla Mosley, Alex Alegria, Lauren Buglioli, Brandon Claybon, Timon Kyle Durrett, Sean Freeman, Ben Gavin, Marquita Goings, Jibre Hordges, Jen Jacob, Lami, Jon Lindstrom, Trisha Mann-Grant, Mike Manning, RhonniRose Mantilla, Ambyr Michelle, Colby Nixon, Arielle Prepetit, and Keith D. Robinson.
Michele Val Jean created the series and serves as showrunner. She executive produces with Sheila Ducksworth, Robert Guza Jr., Julie Carruthers, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Kimberly Doebereiner and Anna Saalfeld. CBS Studios, NAACP and Procter & Gamble Studios produce.
Premiering in February 2024, the daytime soap opera has aired 270 episodes as of earlier today.
