NBC Renews "Law & Order: SVU" for Season 28

NBC has today renewed its original drama series Law & Order: SVU for its 28th season - extending its record as the longest-running primetime drama on broadcast television. The drama will return as part of the network's 2026-27 schedule.

In its 27th season, the drama stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Peter Scanavino, Kevin Kane, Aimé Donna Kelly, Corey Cott and Kelli Giddish.

Michele Fazekas serves as showrunner on the 27th season and is expected to return in the role for the upcoming 28th season. She executive produces with Hargitay, Dick Wolf, Peter Jankowski, Kenneth Brown and Brenna Malloy. Universal Television and Wolf Entertainment produce.

During the upcoming 28th season, the drama will celebrate its 600th episode.
