Prime Video Gives Series Orders to Dramas "Fourth Wing" and "Rose Hill"

Prime Video has today given series orders to two original drama series: Fourth Wing based on the novel by Rebecca Yarros and Rose Hill based on the romance novels by Elsie Silver. Episode counts and premiere date windows were not immediately announced.

In Fourth Wing, Violet Sorrengail is forced by her mother to enter the brutal world of Basgiath War College where she joins hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders.

Meredith Averill developed the drama and will serve as showrunner on the first season. She will executive produce with Yarros, Michael B. Jordan, Elizabeth Raposo, Jonathan Nolan, Athena Wickham, Liz Pelletier, Sherryl Clark, and director Lisa Joy. Amazon MGM Studios, Outlier Society Productions, Kilter Films, and Premeditated Productions will produce.

"I'm thrilled to be working with this dedicated, experienced team and grateful for their passion for both the books and the readership behind them," said Yarros.

"Violet's journey in Fourth Wing has sparked a global phenomenon, captivating millions of readers and building an intensely passionate fanbase around its world, characters, and emotional stakes," added Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television, Amazon MGM Studios. "Rebecca Yarros' brilliant series is one of the most anticipated adaptations in the world, and with Meredith and our valued partners at Kilter, Outlier, and Premeditated, we're bringing it to life in a way that honors what fans love about the story."

Meanwhile, Rose Hill will follow best friends and neighbors West Belmont, a rancher with commitment issues, and brooding record label owner Ford Grant, aka Forbes' "World's Hottest Billionaire," who's long carried a torch for West's sister, Rosie. And when country-pop star Skylar Stone breezes into their rugged mountain town, the heat gets turned way up.

Heidi Cole McAdams developed the drama and will serve as showrunner on the first season. She will executive produce with Silver, Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, James Seidman, and director Marc Webb. Annika Patton will be a co-executive producer. Amazon MGM Studios and Temple Hill Entertainment will produce.

"Working with this team on the Rose Hill adaptation has been such a treat," said Silver. "To see everyone's hard work and creativity come to life on screen will be a dream come true!"

"Elsie Silver's 'Rose Hill' novels have resonated with millions of readers by blending sweeping romance with grounded, emotionally complex relationships," added Friedlander. "It's a world where love, loyalty, and identity collide in ways that feel both intimate and expansive. With Heidi Cole McAdams, Marc Webb, and our partners at Temple Hill, we're excited to translate that richness to the screen for Prime Video audiences globally."
