During the show's panel today at San Diego Comic-Con, AMC announced the renewal of its original drama series Interview With the Vampire for a fourth season. The third season was retitled as The Vampire Lestat, with the fourth season set to change its name to Queen of the Damned.
The drama stars Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Eric Bogosian, Delainey Hayles, Assad Zaman, Sheila Atim and Jennifer Ehle.
Rolin Jones developed the drama based on the "Vampire Chronicles" novels by Anne Rice. The fourth season will see writer Hannah Moscovitch take over as showrunner. Jones and Moscovitch executive produce with Mark Johnson, Craig Zisk, Christopher Rice and the late Anne Rice. AMC Studios, Gran Via Productions and Dwight Street Book Club produce.
"In The Vampire Lestat, Mark, Rolin, Hannah and this extraordinary cast delivered an unforgettable season filled with propulsive storytelling that captivated the passionate and engaged fans of this franchise," said Dan McDermott, Chief Content Officer of AMC Global Media and President of AMC Studios. "We can't wait to continue the journey with Queen of the Damned, one of the most iconic stories in Anne Rice's mythology, and watch our established and beloved characters confront Akasha with their world, and ours, very much hanging in the balance."
