Apple TV has today picked up the original Australian drama series Dustfall starring Anna Torv. The six-episode crime drama will premiere in 2027.
The propulsive, atmospheric tropic noir follows a seasoned detective, Antigone "Tig" Pollard (Torv) whose deep sense of justice is challenged by a world where victims are doubted, predators hide in plain sight and the legal system too often falls short. Tig is called in to investigate a harrowing sexual assault case that spirals darker after a key suspect turns up dead. As Tig hunts for the truth, she's forced to confront long-buried secrets from her own adolescence.
In addition to Torv, the drama stars Juliet Stevenson, Peter Fenton, Bert LaBonté, Zoe Phillips, Kate Box, Lila McGuire, Harry Gilchrist, Ling Cooper Tang, Gemma Chua-Tran, Alice Ansara, Martin Sacks, Theo Haitana, Conrad Coleby, Ben Knight, Kirsty O'Connor, Jay Ryan, Ed Wightman and Luke J. Morgan.
Dianne Taylor developed the drama based on the novel "The Unbelieved" by Vikki Petraitis. She executive produces with Torv, Xavier Marchand, Daisy Gilbert, Deb Balderstone, Brett Sleigh, Rachel Okine and director Emma Freeman. Soapbox Pictures and Moonriver Television produce in association with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), the BBC, ZDF and Screen Australia.
