Being the Avatar is a lot of responsibility! Pavi is overwhelmed and misses her friends. Jae stumbles upon a secret organization and must make a life-altering decision.
"The Order" was written by M. Willis and directed by Jasmine Goggins
Jae has a good life. Karthik wouldn't blame him for wanting to forget what he saw with the twin Avatars and return to it. He gives him that choice. Jae feels compelled by duty. He follows the rules. And yet, the rules dictate him to report any Avatar activities to the council. Karthik gives him that opportunity as well. He simply spells out what the consequences of that would be. Karthik would be labeled a traitor and the girls would be executed. Jae trusts Karthik completely. He must now do so in a world that completely reimagines what he thought he knew. He has friends and people he cares about. Now, he'll have to keep this a secret from them. He feels like he too is destined to be a part of Team Avatar. He needs to be a part of their journey. That means continuing to investigate the secrets that lurk beneath the haven. The Order of the White Lotus is one of the few things from the former world to survive. Their numbers have dwindled. Two centuries have passed since the Cataclysm. People want to believe in the Avatar. Now, Jae has that opportunity. He will get to know Pavi and Nisha. He will have the chance to train them.

Pavi isn't a fighter. She doesn't even want to train. She's grateful to no longer be alone. The compound doesn't feel like home. She's more comfortable sleeping on the ground. She makes friends with rocks and bugs. She misses what she had before. She wants to get to know her sister. She's not interested in becoming the Avatar. Nisha sees the two as the same thing. Pavi can't get to know her without embracing their Avatar identities. Nisha has been training. She's eager to learn more. She's proud to show off her skills. She picks up tricks for how to improve. Pavi only sees the destruction that's left behind in her wake. She doesn't want that. She believes that's what the Avatar must do. She will suppress her identity to avoid that outcome. That leads to a fight between the sisters. It's easier to run away. They both say things they don't actually mean. They regret them almost immediately. It doesn't take much to bring them back together. It's still a pivotal piece of their journey. They need to understand where they came from.
Pavi and Nisha didn't know they had family. After the Anomaly, a song became stuck in Pavi's head. She played it on her kalimba but couldn't quite recall all of it. The Anomaly left a lasting impact on the local animals as well. A camodillo wrecks havoc on the haven. It was aggressive and erratic before it encountered Jae and Nisha. Their search for Pavi was interrupted by the need to contain this situation. That allowed them to step forward as heroes. Jae's mastery of airbending also provided a new way to use the element. It wasn't about fighting. It was about containing the threat to protect the haven. The makeshift cage was created. However, it was Pavi's song that offers the more immediate soothing connection. That calms the animal. Nisha joins in. She can't ignore this memory either. In fact, it unlocks the possibility that their parents are still alive. They ask Karthik to search for them. The song promises that they will meet again. They may have more family out there. Karthik isn't afraid to ask for help either. He knows the council will view that as weakness. They will make due with the benders they have. That may not sustain them for long. Ellora may need the Avatar sooner than later.
Responsibility is an incredible burden. Jae feels that when he's asked to join the White Lotus. He's asked to observe what they do in secret. It's all in service to the Avatar. He can't help but engage. He has knowledge he's eager to pass along to the girls. He feels a connection. The intro for the series is used for the first time. Jae serves as the narrator. It culminates in him believing in the twin Avatars. The world has changed. He believes they will restore balance. He has that hope even in a world that has lost it. That's inspiring and connects to the themes that have radiated throughout Aang and Korra's respective reigns as the Avatar. No one is expecting Pavi or Nisha to live up to those lofty expectations. It's noted that Pavi is behind in her training. The White Lotus worries about what the future holds. Right now, they just need the Avatars to be Pavi and Nisha. They don't need to embrace the symbol of what this role means. They must exist as themselves. That will inform how they behave. Threats loom on the horizon. They will be tested quickly and frequently. They must be ready. The team that surrounds them must embrace them for who they are too.
