ABC Renews 'Scandal,' 'Happy Endings,' 'Body of Proof,' 'Private Practice; & 'Don't Trust the B in Apt 23'; Cancels GCB; Orders 9 Pilots to Series

        After releasing its first batch of renewal announcements yesterday, ABC today announced that they were ordering more episodes for Scandal, Happy Endings, Celebrity Wife Swap and America's Funniest Home Videos. 6:15 PM - New Updates with new series pickups. 9:00 PM - More renewal updates!

        Executive producer of the D.C. based-drama, Scandal, Shonda Rhimes took to Twitter a few minutes ago. "Am super proud to say that Scandal has been picked for a 2nd season!!! Am doing a little dance of joy." It is currently unclear how many episodes will be produced for the second season.

        Earlier today, the network also handed out a renewal for a third season to the critically-loved comedy Happy Endings, which grew in its second season thanks to its huge Modern Family lead-in.

        Two reality series will also continue to produce more episodes - America's Funniest Home Videos and Celebrity Wife Swap.

        UPDATE 6:15 PM - It has now been announced that ABC is joining the early pilot pickup game by handing out series orders to three dramas - Nashville, Zero Hour and Red Widow (formerly Penoza) - and two comedies - The Neighbors and Family Tools (formerly Red Van Man).

        UPDATE (2) 6:20 PM - It has now been released that the midseason show GCB has been canceled.

        UPDATE (3) 7:00 PM - ABC has also decided to pick up the Sarah Chalke, Brad Garrett and Elizabeth Perkins starring comedy - How to Live With Your Parents - and the ensemble supernatural drama - 666 Park Ave. - starring Dave Annable, Rachael Taylor, Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams.

        UPDATE (4) 7:10 PM - ABC has also given the green light for a first season to Shawn Ryan's latest drama pilot, Last Resort. The show had been considered a strong contender for series since the beginning stages of the pilot season which then increased with the casting of Andre Braugher and Scott Speedmen.

        UPDATE (5) 9:10 PM - ABC capped off its day of renewals and pickups by announcing more renewals for Private Practice, Body of Proof and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23. Private Practice and Body of Proof were both given 13 more episodes while it is unclear how big Apartment 23's order is. The network also gave a series order to the multi-cam Reba McEntire-starring comedy, Malibu Country.

        UPDATE (6) 10:00 PM - The final news of the evening is that the Tim Allen-fronted comedy, Last Man Standing has finally come to a deal to return for a second season.

Family Tools - Features Kyle Bornheimer as a man who takes over his father's (J.K Simmons) handyman business. Leah Remini and Edi Gathegi co-star.

How to Live With Your Parents For the Rest of Your Life - Stars Sarah Chalke as a recently divorced mom who moves back in with her parents (Elizabeth Perkins and Brad Garrett). Orlando Jones, John Dore and Rachel Eggleston co-star.

Malibu Country - Reba McEntire stars as a woman who divorces her husband and leaves Nashville for Malibu, accompanied by her mother (Lily Tomlin) and two kids. Sara Rue co-stars.

The Neighbors - Focuses on a family (headed by Jamie Gertz) who moves into a gated community where all their neighbors are aliens disguised as humans.

666 Park Avenue - A couple (Dave Annable, Rachael Taylor) take a gig managing a historic NYC apartment building and they unwittingly begin to experience supernatural occurrences that complicate the lives of everyone in the building. Terry O'Quinn and Vanessa Williams co-star.

Last Resort - The crew of a nuclear submarine (led by Andre Braugher) go rogue after refusing a fire order and escape to a tropical outpost and declare themselves a nuclear nation. Scott Speedmen, Autumn Reeser and Max Adler co-star.

Nashville - A family soap set against the backdrop of the Nashville music scene revolving around one star at her peak (Connie Britton) and another on the rise (Hayden Panettiere). Powers Boothe, Eric Close and Jonathan Jackson co-star.

Red Widow - Radha Mitchell stars as a widow forced to take over her husband's job within a criminal syndicate in order to protect her family. Lee Tergeson, Luke Goss and Jaime Ray Newman co-star.

Zero Hour - Anthony Edwards returns to TV to play an editor of a skeptics magazine who becomes involved in a conspiracy of his own when his wife is kidnapped. Scott Michael Foster and Michael Nyqvist co-star.
