FOX Orders New Late Night Sketch Comedy Series 'Party Over Here' from The Lonely Island

FOX is getting back into the late-night business with a series order for Party Over Here, a sketch comedy series from The Lonely Island trio of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone as well as comedian Paul Scheer. The show will debut on March 12 and air Saturdays from 11-11:30 PM.

Party Over Here will star up-and-coming comedians Nicole Byer (Girl Code), Jessica McKenna (Riot) and Alison Rich (Resident Advisors). It's currently unclear if there will be any more cast members for the series.

Party Over Here will skewer everything from pop culture to politics and will feature The Lonely Island's signature sketch comedy shorts, along with in-studio segments filmed in front of a live audience at the Alexandria Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

The show is executive produced by Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone, Billy Rosenberg and Paul Scheer, who will also direct. Kablamo! will produce. The order stems from FOX's development deal with The Lonely Island.

"When we first conceived this idea, we thought of it as a spinoff of Empire," joked The Lonely Island. "We failed miserably... now it's much more of a sketch comedy show."

Added Scheer: "In an age where most millennials don't even know what a TV is, we are really excited to be getting into the TV business."

"The late-night landscape is wildly competitive, and we thought long and hard about the kind of audacious, attention-getting voices we needed," said David Madden, President of Entertainment, FOX. "Andy, Akiva, Jorma, Paul and our three stars - Nicole, Jessica and Alison - are the ideal group of talent to do just that. They're fearless, original and, of course, very, very funny."
