NBC has given a second season renewal to its original drama series Shades of Blue starring Jennifer Lopez, it was announced today.
The renewal comes as the drama has done robust numbers in time-shifting figures. In the Live+3 returns for the first three episodes of the season, Shades of Blue has averaged a 2.5 rating in the Adults 18-49 demographic and 11.2 million viewers.
In addition to Lopez, the drama also stars Ray Liotta, Drea de Matteo, Warren Kole, Dayo Okeniyi, Hampton Fluker, Vincent Laresca and Sarah Jeffery.
The drama centers on Harlee Santos (Lopez), an NYPD detective and single mother, who is caught up in an FBI anti-corruption probe and must choose between doing the right thing for her daughter or covering up for her corrupt police co-workers.
Adi Hasak created the series. He executive produces with Lopez, Ryan Seacrest, Barry Levinson, Nina Wass, Jack Orman, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina. Universal Television, Nuyorican Productions, Ryan Seacrest Productions, Adi TV Studios, Jack Orman Productions and EGV Productions produce.
