Syfy Renews 'Killjoys' and 'Dark Matter' for Third Seasons

Syfy has renewed its original drama series Killjoys and Dark Matter for third seasons, it was announced today. The renewals come ahead of their season finales - with Killjoys set to wrap its second season tomorrow, September 2 at 9/8c., and Dark Matter ending on September 16 at 10/9c. Both shows will return for their third seasons in 2017.




Killjoys follows a trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war.

The drama stars Hannah John-Kamen, Aaron Ashmore and Luke Macfarlane.

Michelle Lovretta created the drama. She executive produces with David Fortier and Ivan Schneeberg. Universal Cable Productions and Temple Street Productions produce.

Dark Matter centers on a crew who awaken on a derelict spaceship with no memories of who they are or how they got there. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage fueled by vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets. 

The drama stars Melissa O'Neil, Anthony Lemke, Alex Mallari Jr., Jodelle Ferland, Roger Cross and Zoie Palmer.

Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie created the series based on the graphic novel of the same name. They executive produce with Jay Firestone. Prodigy Pictures produces.
