CBS All Access Announces Premiere Date for New Drama 'Strange Angel' Starring Jack Reynor and Rupert Friend

CBS All Access has today announced the premiere date for its upcoming original drama series Strange Angel.

The 10-episode first season will premiere on Thursday, June 14. The drama will release its episodes weekly on subsequent Thursdays - a chance from the Sunday release pattern for CBS All Access' previous three series Star Trek: Discovery, The Good Fight and No Activity.

The drama is inspired by the real-life story of Jack Parsons and explores the dramatic intersection between genius and madness, science and science fiction.

Parsons is a brilliant and ambitious blue-collar worker who started as a janitor at a chemical factory but had fantastical dreams that eventually led to the birth of American rocketry. Along the way, he fell into a mysterious world that included sex magic rituals at night, ultimately becoming a disciple of occultist Aleister Crowley. He used Crowley's teachings of self-actualization to support his endeavor to the stars.

The drama stars Jack Reynor, Rupert Friend, Bella Heathcote, Peter Mark Kendall, Michael Gaston, Greg Wise, Rade Šerbedžija, Zack Pearlman and Keye Chan.

Mark Heyman created the drama. He executive produces with David DiGilio, Ridley Scott, David W. Zucker and director David Lowery. Clayton Krueger is a co-executive producer. CBS Television Studios and Scott Free Productions produce.
