DC Universe has given a series order to the original drama series Stargirl created by Geoff Johns, it was announced today from Comic-Con. The first season will include 13 episodes and debut on the upcoming streaming service in 2019.
The drama follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore who inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. The series reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in a fun, exciting and unpredictable way.
Geoff Johns created the drama. He will executive produce with Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter. Warner Bros. Television, Berlanti Productions and Mad Ghost Productions will produce.
