AMC Renews 'The Walking Dead' for Season 10

A week ahead of its midseason return, AMC has renewed its original drama series The Walking Dead for a tenth season. The new season is once again expected to debut in Fall 2019.

The drama currently stars Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Katelyn Nacon, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Khary Payton, Xander Berkeley, Callan McAuliffe, Avi Nash and Samantha Morton.

Season 9 saw the high-profile exits of Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan from the regular cast. However, Lincoln has since signed a deal to star in three made-for-TV movies set in The Walking Dead universe, which will begin airing in 2020. Moreover, Cohan may return to the drama as well. She exited early on in the new season to star in ABC's midseason dramedy Whiskey Cavalier.

Angela Kang will return as showrunner on the drama for its tenth season - her second overall in the position. She executive produces with Robert Kirkman, Scott M. Gimple, David Alpert, Greg Nicotero, Tom Luse, Denise Huth and Gale Anne Hurd. AMC Studios, Circle of Confusion, Skybound Entertainment, Valhalla Entertainment and Idiot Box Productions produce.
