Comedy Central Revives Animated Comedy 'Beavis and Butt-Head' with 2-Season Order

Comedy Central is reviving the original animated comedy series Beavis and Butt-Head with original series creator Mike Judge. The cable network has ordered two new seasons of the iconic series.

In the new incarnation, Beavis and Butt-Head will enter a whole new Gen Z world with meta-themes that are said to be relatable to both new fans who may be unfamiliar with the original series and old.

Judge will write, produce and provide voiceover for both of the main characters. MTV Studios and 3 Arts Entertainment produce.

"We are thrilled to be working with Mike Judge and the great team at 3 Arts again as we double down on adult animation at Comedy Central," said Chris McCarthy, President of Entertainment and Youth Group, ViacomCBS. "Beavis and Butt-Head were a defining voice of a generation, and we can't wait to watch as they navigate the treacherous waters of a world light-years from their own."

"It seemed like the time was right to get stupid again," added Judge.

The original series aired on MTV from 1993-97 and already produced a revived season in 2011.
