Casting News - Tom Ellis Joins 'Washington Black'; 'Tales of the Walking Dead' Casts Anthony Edwards; Plus 4 More Updates!

Casting News - February 2, 2022

AMC's Tales of the Walking Dead; The CW's Legends of Tomorrow; FOX's 9-1-1; Hulu's Washington Black; Showtime's Let the Right One In; and Starz's P-Valley.

HULU's WASHINGTON BLACK
  • Tom Ellis has joined the cast of the upcoming limited series starring Sterling K. Brown. He previously starred for six seasons in FOX/Netflix's Lucifer.
  • He will play Christopher "Titch" Wilde, an eccentric, passionate steampunk inventor whose youthful enthusiasm masks an inner vulnerability. A disturbing death at his family's sugar planation catapults Titch on a remarkable journey across the sky with young George Washington Black (Eddie Karanja) at his side. Titch finds himself thrust into the position of mentor and father figure to Wash - a role he is ill-prepared for because Titch is chasing the shadow of his own father, an inevitable reckoning that threatens to doom him and Wash both.
SHOWTIME's LET THE RIGHT ONE IN
  • Željko Ivanek and Fernanda Andrade have booked recurring roles on the upcoming drama starring Demián Bichir. Ivanek previously starred for six seasons in CBS' Madam Secretary. He also won an Emmy Award in 2008 for his supporting performance in FX's Damages. Andrade starred in FOX's one-season drama Next.
  • Ivanek will play Arthur, Claire's (Grace Gummer) father and the former CEO of a once proud but now disgraced pharmaceutical empire.
  • Andrade will play Elizabeth, the spirited wife of Mark (Bichir) and devoted mother of Eleanor (Madison Taylor Baez). Her love for her family motivates her to go to any length to protect them.
AMC's TALES OF THE WALKING DEAD
  • Anthony Edwards, Parker Posey, Terry Crews, Poppy Liu and Jillian Bell will appear in the upcoming episodic anthology spinoff of The Walking Dead. Edwards previously starred for eight seasons in NBC's ER. Posey starred for three seasons in Netflix's Lost in Space. Crews starred for eight seasons in FOX/NBC's Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Liu recurred on AMC's Better Call Saul and HBO Max's Hacks. Bell starred for two seasons in Comedy Central's Idiotsitter and two seasons in FOX's Bless the Harts.
  • No details were immediately released about the characters they will be playing.
FOX's 9-1-1
  • Arielle Kebbel has landed a recurring role on the drama's fifth season. She previously starred for two seasons in NBC's Midnight, Texas and in the second season of HBO's Ballers. She also recurred on The CW's The Vampire Diaries, The CW's 90210, Lifetime's UnREAL and ABC's Grand Hotel.
  • She will play Lucy Donato, an LAFD firefighter working at rival firehouse 147, but joins together with the 118 for a daring rescue. She is super confident, fearless and is as quick at making life or death decisions as she is at speaking her mind. In many ways, she is a daredevil counterpart to Buck (Oliver Stark).
STARZ's P-VALLEY
  • Psalms Salazar is set as a new series regular on the drama's upcoming second season. Furthermore, Gail Bean will appear in a recurring role. Salazar appeared in the 2020 film Girl Lost: A Hollywood Story. Bean previously recurred on FX's Snowfall and BET's Games People Play.
  • Salazar will play Whisper, an enigmatic free spirit with a spooky streak who speaks in riddles and eerie truths. She's blessed with a direct line to the universe and sight beyond the earthly realm. The air to Roulette's fire, she becomes a full-blown tornado when she hits the pole.
  • Bean will play Roulette, a feisty wild child who truly lives up to her name - she's taking major risks and breaking all of Uncle Clifford's (Nicco Annan) rules. Like fire, she's dangerous, unpredictable and uncontrollable - but dazzling to watch. On and off the pole, she's turning The Pynk upside down.
THE CW's LEGENDS OF TOMORROW
  • Donald Faison will guest star in the drama's upcoming Season 7 finale - with the option to return if the drama is renewed for an eighth season. He previously starred for nine seasons in NBC's Scrubs and four seasons in TV Land's The Exes.
  • He will play an unauthorized time traveler with high-profile aspirations who is looking for a boost that only fame, fortune and glory can provide. But the big question is whether his respect for the team is going to be able to help the Legends out of hot water or get them into hotter water.
