Netflix Reveals Premiere Date for Limited Series 'From Scratch' Starring Zoe Saldana

Tonight at the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival, Netflix announced the premiere date for its upcoming original limited series From Scratch starring Zoe Saldana.






All 8 episodes of the limited series will be available on Friday, October 21.

Based on the memoir by Tembi Locke, the cross-cultural love story follows Amahle "Amy" Wheeler (Saldana) an American student studying abroad in Italy, as she meets and falls in love with Lino, a Sicilian chef. Their whirlwind romance faces many unforeseen challenges, including their very different cultural backgrounds. But when Lino is faced with unimaginable health challenges and the couple's future is threatened, the two families come together to create an extended family unlike any they could have imagined, proving that love crosses all borders.

In addition to Saldana, the series stars Eugenio Mastrandrea, Danielle Deadwyler, Kellita Smith, Judith Scott, Lucia Sardo, Paride Benassai, Roberta Rigano and Keith David.

Recurring guest stars include Terrell Carter, Medalion Rahimi, Jonathan Del Arco, Peter Mendoza, Lorenzo Pozzan, Jonathan D. King, Rodney Gardiner, Giacomo Gianniotti, Elizabeth Anweis, Kassandra Clementi and Saad Siddiqui.

Attica Locke developed the series. She executive produces with Zoe Saldana, Cisely Saldana, Mariel Saldana, Tembi Locke, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Richard Abate, Jermaine Johnson, Will Rowbotham and director Nzingha Stewart. Hello Sunshine and 3 Arts Entertainment produce.
